Cupellation Furnaces

Qingdao Decent Group Cupellation Furnace is a kind of fire assay equipment used to detect the content of precious metals, also known as muffle furnace. The heating element of the cupellation furnace adopts silicon carbide heaters, and the furnace adopts refractory materials with silicon carbide as the main element. The maximum temperature can reach 1200. PID temperature control system can realize temperature indication and precise regulation. The modular design of the cupellation furnace chamber is convenient for maintenance and replacement of parts.

Our cupellation furnaces feature a robust carbon steel structure, precise temperature control with silicon carbon heating elements, a K-type thermocouple, and an Omron temperature controller. The furnace reaches temperatures up to 1200°C, ensuring reliable results during the cupellation process to obtain gold-silver alloys.

How To Cupellation

Cupellation is a crucial step in separating precious metals from lead alloys. Cupels are preheated in the furnace at 800-900°C to remove volatile substances. The lead button is then placed into the preheated cupels, melted, and oxidized into lead oxide. The lead oxide permeates into the cupels, removing lead and base metals. Gold, silver, and precious metals remain in the cupels as gold and silver particles.
